Është konfirmuar rasti i parë me ethet e Nilit në Shqipëri. Pacienti është diagnostikuar më 1 gusht në qarkun e Korçës, ndërsa rasti është raportuar edhe në Qendrën Evropiane për Parandalimin dhe Kontrollin e Sëmundjeve.
“Rasti u diagnostikua në fillim të këtij muaji”, deklaroi epidemiologia e Institutit të Shëndetit Publik, Adela Vasili.
Pas konfirmimit, Shqipëria është përfshirë në hartën evropiane të vendeve me raste të virusit të Nilit Perëndimor.
Sipas të dhënave të raportuara, Italia numëron 311 raste, Greqia 157 dhe Maqedonia e Veriut 37.
Virusi transmetohet te njerëzit përmes pickimit të mushkonjave të infektuara. Mushkonjat e marrin virusin kryesisht nga zogjtë, ndërsa njerëzit dhe kuajt mund të infektohen rastësisht.
Rreth 80 për qind e personave të infektuar nuk shfaqin simptoma. Tek ata që sëmuren mund të shfaqen temperaturë, dhimbje koke, lodhje, dhimbje muskujsh, të përziera dhe të vjella. Në më pak se një për qind të rasteve, infeksioni mund të prekë sistemin nervor dhe të shkaktojë encefalit ose meningjit.
“Nis si një grip, por mund të shkaktojë encefalit. Nuk ka vend për panik”, tha epidemiologia Vasili.
Ekspertët e ISHP-së kanë nisur hetimin epidemiologjik në qarkun e Korçës për të verifikuar praninë dhe përhapjen e mushkonjave që transmetojnë virusin.
Instituti i Shëndetit Publik ka kryer dezinsektimin e zonave bregdetare gjatë periudhës së shumimit të mushkonjave. Bashkive u kërkohet të marrin masa edhe pranë vendgrumbullimeve të mbetjeve dhe zonave me ujëra të ndenjura.
Për mbrojtje rekomandohet përdorimi i repelentëve, veshjeve që mbulojnë trupin, rrjetave në dritare dhe eliminimi i ujërave të grumbulluara pranë banesave.

INFORMACION EPIDEMIOLOGJIK Situata e infeksionit nga Virusi i Nilit Perëndimor (WNV)
Gjatë monitorimit sistematik dhe intensiv të infeksionit nga Virusi i Nilit Perëndimor (WNV) në vend, vetëm gjatë dhjetëditëshit të dytë të muajit gusht u evidentua rasti i parë për vitin 2026, në qarkun e Korçës. Që nga fillimi i muajit janar 2026, janë testuar 30 mostra të rasteve të dyshuara për infeksion nga WNV, të cilat kanë rezultuar negative. Rasti i evidentuar, përbën rastin e parë të konfirmuar në Shqipëri për vitin 2026.
ISHP po vijon survejancën epidemiologjike në njerëz, hetimin epidemiologjik dhe entomologjik të rastit të konfirmuar dhe monitorimin e situatës.
Në Shqipëri, infeksioni nga WNV është dokumentuar edhe më parë. Në vitin 2024 janë raportuar 107 raste të konfirmuara dhe 50 raste të mundshme, ndërsa në vitin 2025 janë raportuar 2 raste të konfirmuara.
